so here's a picture of my wonderful, wonderful family! in the typical spanish fashion, none of them are smiling, but i promise we all love each other. aside from many things that make it clear that i'm american, probably the biggest give away is that i can't help but smile at everyone i pass and make eye contact with on the street. no one does that here. NO ONE! as my darling roommate says, 'they seem like they either hate life or are just constipated' and it's true.


teresa, sylvia, rosa y david



there's teresa, who's about 30, sylvia who is 17, rosa, my madre who's about 50 and david, her son, who's about 28. today we had all the family together for lunch. ususally it's just us, rosa, sylvia and david, but teresa came today also. it's so great to have them all around the table together! i love them!
